ITIL® v4 Foundation is designed as an introduction to ITIL® v4 and enables candidates to look at IT service management through an end-to-end operating model for the creation, delivery and continual improvement of tech-enabled products

ITIL® Foundation

The ITIL® v4 Foundation course is aimed at introducing participants to the management of modern IT-enabled services, to provide them with an understanding of the common language and key concepts, and to show them how they can improve their work and the work of their organization with ITIL® v4 guidance. The training covers the full syllabus of the Foundation module and prepares all the participants to take the ITIL®v4 Foundation exam. Furthermore, the certification provide the candidate with an understanding of the ITIL® v4 service management framework and will explain them how it has evolved to adopt modern technologies and ways of working.

The ITIL® v4 Foundation certification course is designed for anyone working in IT and looking for the most up to date IT service management education, as well as an understanding of how to provide business value in the digital era. It is also a must have for anyone who is looking to upgrade their ITIL® v3 certification and knowledge.

On completion of the course candidates can expect to gain competencies in the following:

  • A high-level overview of ITIL® v3’s five-step life cycle model and how the current 26 processes and functions map to the new ITIL® v4 model SVS model
  • The seven guiding principles of ITIL® v4
  •  ITIL® v4’s new service value chain
  • The four dimensions of service management
  • The 34 ITIL® v4 practices, with a primary focus on 18 of these
  • Key concepts from Lean IT, Agile, DevOps, and Organizational Change Management, and why these are important to deliver business value

  • Type of questions: multiple choice
  • Marks: 40 marks available.
  • Provisional pass mark: 65% or higher
  • Duration: 60 minutes (75 for non-native speakers)
  • This is a ‘closed book’ examination

The Certification Exam takes place the last day of the course, the third day, in the afternoon. Open-course participants may need to bring their laptop in order to take the on-line exam.
